Drastic weather changes affect our skin the most. The heat might be gone, but it has been replaced by chilling cold; no longer sweaty faces but we now have dry and flaky skin, lanky frizzy hair & dry chapped lips.

1. Keep Your Body Hydrated
Sometimes in winter we don’t realise we are thirsty. Ensure you keep yourself hydrated and don’t let the water intake reduce.
2. Keep It Cool
A 20-minute long, boiling-hot shower might feel great on a cold day, but stick to warm or lukewarm water for 5 minutes or less. Long exposure to hot water can strip moisture from hair and skin.
3. Oil Massage
Apply a thin layer of oil to the body after showering this helps to maintain the moisture in your body and prevents skin from cracking due to dryness.
4. Some TLC for your hair
Winter time means extra attention to your hair. Shampooing strips moisture from the scalp and hair, so wash your hair every other day. Everyone’s hair is different—if washing once or twice a week is normal for you, consider adding some time between shampoos to take dry winter conditions into account. And don’t skip the conditioner!
5. Moisturise your feet
Your feet face the brunt of winter. Calloused feet are as common as the cold during winter and most often ignored. Ensure you exfoliate and moisturise your feet to prevent them from cracking. Don’t wait for winter to get to them to start taking care of them. Moisturize feet, especially the heels, every day with thick cream—lotions containing lactic acid are especially effective—and wear cotton socks to bed
6. Don’t let your lips get chapped!
Keep a tube of lipbalm (my favourite is Cococare Cocao Butter Lip Balm) handy always. But sometimes that isn’t enough. If your lips are extra flaky, take a dry toothbrush gently over them to exfoliate. Post that generously apply vaseline (which you can remove after 15-20mins with a warm cottom swab) this will ensure your lips stay and look healthy!
7. Scalp Care
Itchy and flaky scalp is a common effect for the winter. It can get embarassing and uncomfortable. To prevent this gently massage your scalp with vitamin e oil or organic coconut oil. This will help take care of your scalp.
8. Face Cleanse and Moisturise
The skin that is most effected by the winter in your face. It is the most exposed and needs extra care and loving especially in winter. During winter, avoid any face products with alcohol, and switch to a milder face wash and a thicker moisturizer. Use natural products like milk, avocado, bananas etc to create face masks to take care of your skin. In addition don’t forget to moisturise post each shower.
